How do I setup OBS?

SETTING UP OBS


You have a choice between setting up during the installation period or afterward! We suggest that you bypass auto configuration so that you can manually input your settings. Down below, we have all the steps to get your recommended settings ready to go.

VIDEO CAPTURE DEVICE SETUP


Add your camera to sources. Click the + symbol to get started!
See that +? That's where this all starts!
Now click "Video capture device."
Video capture device time!
Set the name for your streaming device.
We suggest you name it by the type of device it is!

CAMERA PROPERTIES


Lots of settings here! Go in order to make sure you hit all your spots.
Choose your device from the dropdown list.
Set Resolution/FPS Type to Custom.
Set your Resolution (recommended 1920x1080 / 1280x720).
Set your FPS to 60 or 30.
Hit OK to save your settings!

SETTINGS


Click settings to get going here!
This is the page where your start for all of our next settings. You're in the final stretch!

STREAM SETTINGS


Head over to "Stream" to access this page.
Set Service to Custom.
Copy/Paste Server link from your Stream Settings page.
Copy/Paste Stream Key from your Stream Settings page.
Click OK to save your settings.

OUTPUT SETTINGS


Head over to Output to get started!
Set Output Mode to Simple.
Set Video Bitrate according to this suggestion.
You can double check this on your stream settings page, too!
Set Encoder: Software (x264) (recommended: Hardware (NVENC)).
Set Audio Bitrate to 128.

VIDEO SETTINGS


Head over to the Video tab to get going, and follow the instructions in order!
Set Base (Canvas) Resolution same as Camera Resolution (as what you set under your Camera Properties #3).
Set Output (scaled) Resolution same as Base (Canvas) Resolution.
Set Common FPS Values same as Camera FPS (as what you set under your Camera Properties #4).

START STREAMING


Click Start Streaming to start streaming.
Click Start Streaming! It's as easy as that.
Click Stop Streaming to stop streaming.
And stopping!
